Lazy governments get addicted to the revenue windf Lazy governments get addicted to the revenue windfalls from higher property prices. 

Stamp duty has increased by 45% in just three years under the Minns Government, with the average Hornsby family now paying around $80,000 in stamp duty - that’s money the government takes when young families are already stretched buying a home.

We need government to focus on how it will grow the economy through productivity and innovation. That’s the key to helping families and getting taxes down. It’s the only way to ensure the tax base is sustainable and pays pay for the public services we rely on.

Huge congratulations to Ross Anderson from the Wes Huge congratulations to Ross Anderson from the West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook Cricket Club on being named Community Sporting Hero 👏

Ross has dedicated an incredible 50 years to @wphccc1930 and the @hkhdca 

Ross has also been a driving force behind grassroots cricket, championing programs like Kanga Cricket and helping generations of young players get involved in the game.

He’s also played a huge role in growing the club’s female participation, with more than 1,300 women joining since 1995, now one of the largest community girls cricket programs in the country. 

Many have gone on to represent at state and even national level.

Congratulations to Pauline Wong, winner of the Eme Congratulations to Pauline Wong, winner of the Emergency Services and Frontline Volunteer Hero at the Hornsby Community Heroes Awards. 

Pauline is a Team Leader and Leading Senior Operator with the @hornsbyses 

Over the past year alone she has responded to over 190 storm incidents, often working through the night while also teaching high school mathematics during the day. 

She also dedicated more than 350 volunteer hours to training and mentoring new members, helping strengthen and grow the whole team.

Great to celebrate the launch of the @marswrigley Great to celebrate the launch of the @marswrigley Hornsby Community Heroes Awards here in Asquith.

Proud to have been part of the judging panel for such a meaningful initiative recognising the everyday heroes who go above and beyond for our community.

I recently had the opportunity to speak in Parliam I recently had the opportunity to speak in Parliament about the incredible work of the Hornsby Lions Club, who raised $4,700 for the National Centre for Childhood Grief, supporting children who have lost a parent or sibling.

I’ve known the Club’s President, Ted, and his wife Pauline for some time, and their dedication is truly selfless.

A huge thank you for your leadership, your compassion, and to all members for your tireless volunteering in our community.

This was a big project pursued by predecessor Matt Kean and the Mayors he worked with Steve Russell and Phillip Ruddock. Great to see their vision start to come to life. 

Still more to come as works continue.
